Macbeth

In Year 6, our text for this half term has been Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The children have loved learning the story, the characters and they know lots of quotes off by heart! They wrote some amazing letters from Lady Macbeth to Macbeth, convincing him to kill the King. Some of them were extremely convincing...
We then carried on with our Shakespeare focus and looked at some of his most famous sonnets. Year 6 used their inference and vocabulary skills to decipher what Shakespeare was saying in his poetry, and then they used his themes of love and adoration to write their own sonnets. They've used the same rhyming pattern as he did, with his famous rhyming couplet at the end!
Below are some examples for 6W - aren't they amazing? 😍
