Tuesday 14th October 2025, 3.30pm-7.00pm and Wednesday 15th October 2025, 3.30pm – 5.30pm

This is an opportunity to talk about your child’s learning and progress with their class teacher and how they have settled into the new school year. Meetings will take place in the school hall. Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment time.

Importance of Reading, by Mrs Atkinson

Date: 5th Sep 2025 @ 2:16pm

Please read the attached flyer about the importance of reading for your child.

Newsletter 5.9.25, by Mrs Atkinson

Date: 5th Sep 2025 @ 2:12pm

Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to the new academic year! Firstly, I would like to extend a warm Marus Bridge welcome to our new children, parents and carers; we are looking forward to getting to know you all over the coming weeks. Please say 'well done' to your children for a great  start to the term!
We have had a few minor alterations take place over the summer: new toilets in lower juniors with super-cool hand driers, groundwork and fencing for our upcoming forest school area and...new bins - yes! (The bins are courtesy of FOMBA and the School Planet Protectors and will be outside soon).
School Website and Comms
All statutory information can be found on our website, including key dates, term times and policies, as well as advice and information such as school lunch ordering.
All classes will receive key information from teachers to give you an overview of timetables and what children will be learning this term. Parent mail will convey important messages and used for booking/payments etc. We also communicate using SeeSaw for class related information, celebrations and quick queries. If a conversation is more appropriate, please catch teachers at the door or arrange a call back via the school office.
A reminder that team leaders across school oversee each key stage and will be able to speak to you too if required:
Mrs Boffey - Assistant Headteacher across school
Mrs Miller - Early Years Lead
Mrs Riley - Key Stage One Lead (Y1 and 2)
Mrs Capstick - Lower Key Stage Two Lead (Y3 and 4)
Mrs Howsley - Upper Key Stage Two Lead
Welcome back also to our school SENDCO Miss Evans from her maternity leave too.
Quick reminders:
  • Please try and label all uniform, coats and water bottles. We have lost property stations in KS1 and KS2.
  • Please park safely and respectfully and not across driveways of local residents.
Reading
Teaching children to read, so that they can read to learn and experience the joy of books, is one of our everyday aims. Thankyou for supporting children with reading at home - don't forget that the books sheds are open everyday to swap age appropriate and varied titles that we know children will enjoy reading.
If any adults are available to give their time to listen to readers in school, it would be greatly appreciated. Please just pop into the office for further details.
Attendance
Excellent attendance continues to be of the highest priority to the new Government, local authority and to our school . Please read the most recent LA guidance sent by Mrs Bish. We really do appreciate your support with this and avoiding holidays in term time this year.
School Lunches
Don’t forget that from Reception (EYFS) to Y2, school lunches are free and from Y3 onwards extremely good value! They are tasty, well-balanced and save a bit of time for us parents too. There is a new menu from which I can definitely recommend the meatball sub roll! If you have any questions, give the office a call.
 Have a lovely weekend,
Mr Aldridge

Flu Immunisation, by Mrs Atkinson

Date: 3rd Sep 2025 @ 11:54am

Dear Parent/Carer,

All children at MBPS are being offered the flu immunisation, which is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday 23rd September. This year you will need to complete the immunisation consent form online via the link below.

The link will close on 16th September so please ensure you complete it by this deadline. If not, your child may have to have their vaccination at an alternative venue e.g. a community clinic.

Please follow the link below to complete the online consent form. If you wish to decline, please still complete the form to indicate your decision.

If your child has already received the flu vaccine elsewhere since September 2025, please complete the form and select 'No' to consent.

If you experience any issues accessing the link, please contact Intrahealth on 0333 358 3397, selecting the appropriate options.

Thank you for your co-operation.
