Christmas Newsletter 22.12.23
Dear Parents/Carers,
As the year comes to an end, I would like to show my gratitude for all the support and kindness from our parents this year. You can be proud of the effort and progress your children have made - collectively they make this school the happy and thriving place that it is. They thoroughly deserve the upcoming fun, happiness and rest. Thankyou to our staff too, for their commitment and creativity.
Thankyou to FOMBA for providing refreshments for all the recent events - very well-received and served with a smile. 🙂 The funds raised all feed back into supporting school to reduce costs for trips or purchase resources to enhance the children's school experience and much more.
Lunchtime Supervisor Role
We are recruiting to the role of lunchtime supervisor - please pop into the office in the new year for further details if you feel you can offer an hour a day to the role.
Reading Newsletter
Please take a look at the this term's reading newsletter, it showcases the many ways in which we promote reading for pleasure and develop fluent readers. Our reading ambassadors lead this, supported by the ever creative Mrs Holden, our early reading lead. Look out for some Christmas challenges in there too.
Knowledge Review
The past week or so have seen our pupils reviewing their learning across the wider curriculum, we call this knowledge review week. It gives children a chance to recap, reflect and embed what they have learnt in our wider curriculum subjects over the past term. Feel free to ask them about what they have studied and remembered!
Primary school Applications
If you have not already done so and have a child starting school next year, please remember to apply for your child's place before 15th January.
Primary school admissions (wigan.gov.uk)
A reminder that school reopens for spring term on Tuesday 9th January,
In the meantime, have a fun and restful Christmas,
Mr Aldridge
